We designed this authentic Japanese teahouse for a couple who owned a Vermont farm. It sits on a small pond at the end of a short pier. We thoroughly enjoyed researching and designing every last detail of it. The slides show (1) a side view from across the pond, (2) a view looking down one side of the porch surround, (3 & 4) two views of the interior, (5) a view of the ceiling, and (6) a detail shot of some of the joinery used in the ceiling. When last we heard, the property had been purchased by some monks. A quite fitting use for it, we think.
